The young, rich and famous are all after the next place to be seen – and these faces are looking towards Africa. Ibiza, Dubai and Monaco are all done – everyone now parties in Marrakech.

With the bohemian atmosphere, all-year sunshine and beautiful buildings, Marrakech continues to wow, stun and seduce every visitor who steps foot in the place. Sumptuous hotels, breathtaking mountains, opulent luxury all make this *the* place to eat, drink and be merry.

We look at our top three favourite celebrity shin digs in the Red City.

David Beckhams 40th birthday party

There was no expense spared in Beck’s milestone birthday, as wife Victoria jetted the whole family over to Marrakech to party the whole weekend. Joining the family were the Spice Girls, Eva Longoria, Gordon Ramsey and Liv Tyler.

The venue was the luxury six-star Amanjena resort where guests enjoyed the best cuisine Morocco has to offer.

The premium hotel venue has lavish villas all around the resort’s gardens which are shaded by palm trees.

The Beckhams later enjoyed a wander around the Jardin Majorelle – a 12 acre botanical garden owned by Yves Saint Laurent.

Katy Perrys 30th

Amanjena was the number one choice again for pop star Katy Perry who flew seventy friends and family out with her to Marrakech to celebrate her 30th birthday.

The fancy dressed party were joined by fire breathers, celebrity chanteuses and an endless supply of champagne.

The big dollar evening at the six star hotel was part of a week long celebration for the singer.

John Legends 37th birthday party

This event shows that Marrakech can do it sweet and intimate. Wife Chrissy Teigan took her husband to Le Tobsil restaurant to celebrate his 37th birthday.

“Magnificent Moroccan food!” Legend told his followers on social media.

Instagram showed the happy couple feasting on rich chocolate desserts in a low lit restaurant setting after being treated to a traditional birthday serenade by restaurant staff. The city was a perfect getaway for the parents-to-be.
